SAKHEE'S SECRET - A six lengths winner at two years

"Sakhee’s Secret had shown promise in his first season, chiefly when trouncing fourteen opponents in a Windsor maiden by six lengths."  Timeform

“We weren’t surprised at him winning as he did at two as his work at home with listed winner Baltic King was very good,” said his trainer Hughie Morrison.

“He’s one of those few horses who is as good on the racecourse as he is in the mornings at home - so often they are morning glories.”

The Newmarket win - His first start back at three years

"The way in which he made light of 56.5kg, starting favourite in a field of eighteen, was breathtaking as he quickened clear to beat Aahayson by five lengths."  Timeform

Encouraged by the ease of this Newmarket win, Morrison was further buoyed by the professionalism his charge showed next-up, when scoring a three length listed win on unsuitably soft going at Newbury. Sakhee’s Secret’s winning manner that day, proved the colt was very quickly developing the ringcraft to match his talent.

A hat-trick at three - The listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury

"The form value of Sakhee Secret’s win was more in keeping with that of a Group One race. This was a first-rate victory, judged on form as well as style."   Timeform

 “Sakhee Secret looked top-notch material when bolting up by four lengths from Prime Defender at Salisbury. Few sprinters have made such a strong impression in recent years.” The Guardian

“Sakhee’s Secret was supported to overturn the hot favouritePrime Defender and duly delivered the goods when producing a stunning change of pace inside the final furlong, pulling four lengths clear of the market leader in a time marginally outside of the course record.” The Western Mail

Sakhee’s Secret had decisively staked his claim with racing pundits for top sprinting honors, and his downing of the multiple stakes winner Prime Defender at Salisbury had stirred both race-goers and the racing press alike.

A trainer renowned for his patience, Hughie Morrison was also a trainer known for developing his horses in stages, working them step-by-step through the grades. But for Morrison, here was a horse who broke the mould - big, strong, and super-talented; it was straight from listed company into Europe’s most prestigious sprint for Sakhee’s Secret.

His fourth consecutive win - The Group One Newmarket July Cup

Just three years old, lightly raced, and lacking the experience of the proven international Group performers;
Sakhee’s Secret swept all obstacles aside to score an easy win in the 2007 running of the Group One July Cup at Newmarket.  When put to the test on the rising ground of the Newmarket July course the colt produced an electrifying response, leaving the veterans in his wake.

In scoring his July Cup victory Sakhee’s Secret had defeated 17 challengers from Britain, Australia, South Africa, France, Ireland & Germanythese included six individual Group One winners, with a total of 28 Group victories already amassed by the field.
